themaclad,I think anyone exchanging views with px6, is in for a hard ride he obviously is not interested from his posts in the quality of the football we dish up and clears RL from any blame for what we have been seeing on the pitch its all the players fault he doesnt remember the runs of losses only the wins but as a PNE supporter he is entitled to his opinion

Oldun don’t know if you’ve realised but this forum is pretty dead, just trying to offer a balanced opinion.
I know we’ve had better managers and he’s got a car salesman feel about him. But we could do a lot worse. It’s definitely not doom and gloom like people make out.

PX6 is entitled to his own views I think he's wrong, possibly forgets the 5 we conceded in the second half against Watford

New season clean slate for me. I'm not going to slag Lowe off until the season starts in earnest. Respect all the views expressed by deepdaleoldun, px6, themaclad, on the thread and I too was incredibly fed up for large chunks of last season. For now, Ryan is our manager, and I'm going to keep quiet regarding his abilities until a reasonable amount of time into the season.

How convenient. Never once said RL is faultless.

Who would you want if we sacked Lowe?
john eustace was the name fans where wanting before he went blackburn. Ainsworth before that. Two bullets dodged.

I posted a while back about the success or lack of it with managers appointed after a sacking. Moyes, Davies moved up from within after sackings or other moves. There were cries for Eustace and Mowbray last season add to that Ainsworth its 3 bullets actually dodged.
If we lose to SUFC on the first Friday, shouts of Lowe out will start....guaranteed.
I hope we can be measured on here next season, and if some shout Lowe out, please back it up with a detailed solution including a new managers name and be prepared to hold up thy hand up high if it does not work out.
I'm still backing Ryan, but if it does not work out, my hand will be raised, whilst many others with far more knowledge about football than I will say, "told you so"

Bearing in mind how we ended last season, if we were to (perish the thought) lose the first five, he's on 10 consecutive defeats and that for me is untenable. However, if we are just a bit inconsistent, mediocre and boring (ie, 16th or above) then I would agree. If we start badly and leave it too long, it's likely to be too late to salvage anything. As a broad rule of thumb, I'd be evaluating after 10-12 games - but this could change given the length of time Lowe has already been here and how little progress has been made.

The problem with changing a manager is that leaving it till Xmas is too late to give a new manager time to assess the squad before the transfer window in Jan. I'd change a manager by end of Oct/beginning of November so that they can see where changes are needed and identify targets and their availability earlier so that there's no last minute panic buying at vastly inflated prices.

Anyway back to the thread went to Brig last nite impressed by Pasiek, Noah and Theo Mawene Stewart and Holmes but rest looked too reserved to judge but then it's only preseason time to tell will be Everton at home week before season starts so not gonna get too excited yet

It reflects something seriously the matter when pre-season discussion is on sacking the manager.
(I am reminded of a manager (can't recall whom) in his own defence said that 'we had a good pre-season'....Lowe couldn't even say that).
However I agree with those who say pre-season matches count for nothing...so we'll wait and see what happens now he's got (virtually) his own squad. No excuses...I don't expect a top 6 finish nor a bottom one (but fear it)...I just want to see some decent football and for us to stop getting hammered. That's not too high or unreasonable expectation is it?

Won 1-0, Robbie Brady from 40 yards apparently! Class is permanent. Happy for anyone to trawl the threads and prove otherwise but I’ve always liked Brady! Oh my God, imagine Lowe right now. I bet he went all Steve Lomas when we scored (Google it)

If this is true and PNE beat Liverpool by one goal, it’s a disgrace, what on earth is Lowe doing, we should be putting 4 or 5 past that standard of team. He ain’t got a clue!

Can we play Liverpool's U21s every week?
Nearly every first team player and even those on the bench have been on international duty and , as such I have no doubt they won't be reporting for training for another week or two.
Wonder if Lowe spotted another good potential loan, like Ramsey?
Maybe even signings such as Layton Stewart ? (Who needs to be playing regularly at his age having shown some potential but Lowe has preferred the likes of Evans)

Markos , nobody knows whom a replacement manager may be. That's for the club. What is certain is that there will always be dozens (even hundreds) of candidates. What is clear is that Ridsdale is no good at picking one. He struck lucky with Grayson and Neil being obvious choices due to having good relevant experience and being out of work but none of his other choices have been any good..doesn't seem to have learned a thing from the club's history, picking a lower League manager on the basis of one or two seasons success at a lower level never works at Deepdale. You can go back some way, Simpson, Westly, Ferguson, all flops with us.

Wouldn’t be bothered if we beat the Spanish National team to be honest. I don’t mind saying it everyday Ryan Lowe is out of his depth and Peter Ridsdale is a chancer, charlatan and con man. I will never forgive the Riddler (when 75%) of the paying fan base were ignored. I get we have first/second division players but our brand of football is as bad as I have seen. Enough chances the pair of them.Get rid.

A Liverpool team with three, regular first teamers (Bradley, Elliot, Salah) and 2 weeks behind Champ clubs in pre-season preparation followed by an U21/Academy squad. I can recall when we took on L'pool's first team...indeed until Shanks got hold of them we were a bigger club.
Out of curiosity, and because I get to wear my Fiorentina scarf, I shall go on next Saturday but for the Everton match I have a choice, between the game or playing in an early evening family ceilidh at Kate Rusby's folky Under the Stars Festival, about 3,000 people go...did it once before when Steve Earl was on the main stage and we were packed out as families walked out of Earl because of his language and came to us. Think I prefer the music and a beer to the half-hearted gentle warm ups these games are with multiple stops for subs. I don't think they show or prove anything.
(Sup , in your rant about Ridsdale, 'chancer, charlatan etc', above you fail to say these are his good points).

More minutes into the players' legs produced a 2-0 defeat to Tranmere Rovers today.
One poster on t"other site reacted with a comment that I have adapted slightly.
What is the difference between the manager and the new floodlights?
One gives us a light show and the other....
