Bloomberg as anti Brexit as you can get, but we'll leave it there as there is another thread on here.
As for the game won BUT they could quite easily have got 4 in the second period, formation still doesn't work and we badly need players in.

Bloomberg's figs and opinions no different to anybody else...even Office for Budget Responsibility has reported on the Brexit damage.
To the footy, lack of pace throughout, left sided defending (Brady/Hughes) weak. Desperate need to get players in otherwise stand to be carved open.

dawsonsjs, Will that happen? Will Nigel Farage admit Brexit is a financial disaster? Fastest growng economy in G7(and yes I can provide the evidence) and the one thing about being in the EU at least we could put the Olympic flag up the correct way Are you reading Nigel's fake news propaganda? Yes we've done well over the last few months, but from a low starting point. Brexit wiped out a hell of a lot of our GDP. That was exacerbated by the infamous Truss/Kwarteng announcement to say that they would reduce taxes and increase public spending, because they could because of Brexit and not taking fiscal responsibility. I work in financial services and have to explain to clients that we only invest about 10% of their investments in the UK because of what Brexit has done. We get better investment growth from the European and American investments. And have done since the referendum.

I don't really want to stray from footy Pete but the answer is that I have looked at it...and frankly been alarmed by how many stupid or lazy people are taken in by his unbelievably superficial but populist rhetoric. That man has cost this country tens of £billions. He even twists immigration data to fit his own agenda...never a semblance of balance such as reporting that at its peak 50% of net migration has been students contributing around £30,000 a year in fees plus having to fund accommodation costs and that 95% go home on completing their degrees .....nor that the propaganda that post Brexit would result in trade deals throughout the world led to the Tories handing out tens of thousands of immigration visas in countries like India in order to secure deals. I could go on, but let's stick to the footy.
What have the friendlies shown?
Nothing we don't already know
Have the shortcomings been addressed, that is defensive frailties, lack of pace , wb and fb issues?
No signs of this at all
Can we expect anything better next season?
No, the squad is weaker

pebbleleague.proboards.com/thread/8453/brexitThere’s the other thread Truss did not crash the economy and we only left fully in 2021 in the middle of Covid As for lies the biggest ones were told by politicians who said they would respect the decision and are still trying 8 years on not too By the way it was supposed to be a trading block please explain to me why we ended up having well over 20000 laws lobbed at us don’t recall voting for that but we didn’t did we

This is a football blog not a political one. Can Dawson refrain from bringing politics into it. I don't wish to be a party to Political debates enough aggro with PNE - which is why I follow it. Any more & I'm off

I don't believe PR or RL are renowned for their truthfulness. How people continue to fall for their fantasies is beyond me. In respect of the EU, the majority of it's citizens are white. Whilst, a member we were compelled to favour allowing entry to EU citizens regardless of them having the necessary skills. Brexit was supposed to allow entry to anyone from anywhere regardless of colour as long as they had the skills required. How can that be considered racist?

Indeed we are truly lucky to have such a tactical mastermind and all round likeable fella in charge of this team. Any attempt to suggest otherwise should be banned from the forum. 👍🏻 Good job Ryan's tactics made fiorentina miss a pen today and hit the woodwork a couple of times 🤔🤦🏻♂️. Unless we sign some wingbacks and a mobile CB to try make this god awful system work then I have a feeling Markos that you'll be hearing a lot more criticism of Mr Lowe and his extreme lack of managerial ability. People are sick of watching this horrible football that the used car salesman serves up and understandably so.👍🏻

You are right Chris, we need to see better this season. But in addition to Ryan the players need to put a shift in every game and play at 95% of their ability. Mads for me, too often falls short, as do others.

We did beat a decent Fiorentina team, as always we can’t read much into friendlies, but with the wingbacks that have apparently agreed personal terms - our team won’t be looking too bad…
Woodman had a good game and the new guys looked promising.

The signing of 2 decent wingbacks would be a huge step forward, absolutely no doubt. Perhaps they could be the catalyst to a huge upturn in performance, the missing pieces to the puzzle and brand. 🤷🏻♂️ I only hope that is the case and we could out of the traps flying. I know some posters don't like hearing anything negative towards Ryan (constructive or otherwise) but I honestly have zero enthusiasm leading up to this season and this manager is slowly killing my appetite for match days. Very minimal enjoyment, very depressing. I am sure I am not the only one to feel this way. I do agree though I liked the look of the new midfielder but not so sure on Greenwood, time will tell no doubt. 👍🏻

Also, I know many have views on Ledson...but, he came on yesterday and for 1 or 2 minutes exchanged pleasantries with their No 18 or 38 cant recall exactly, but then went into a cruncher with him. Their guy got up looked at Ryan as if to say I thought we were pals!! Ryan, talented or not, he is a White!

This is the first season in living memory that I will not have attended any of the friendlies. Other stuff has taken priority, We nearly went on Saturday but after a couple of nights away in Birmingham, there were other things that needed our time ahead of the Lilywhites! Off on holiday in a couple of days, and am sure my enthusiasm will return once the season gets underway.
I think that we have made what will turn out to be a couple of decent signings, but we need more. It was a week ago that the LEP reported we were 'close'. Peter struggling to close the deal or have the players looked at RL's Powerpoint presentation and thought 'sod that!'?

I will be honest no sugar coat and I will endeavour to see it as I do. Any other Pebblers? If so publish your match report to see whether we are singing from the same hymn sheet😎

Well me and the lad went firstly phenomenal support from Everton fair play to them. Good game to be honest Keane for us had a blinder. First goal pace and rash challenge 1-0 second not cleared third stupid ball by Potts put defender under pressure which we gave away a free kick away. Great goal not sure our keeper or any keeper would have got it from where I was standing. We threatened played some nice intricate passing but you make mistakes and Everton will punish you. In a strange sort of way they gave us a little more time on the ball (that won’t be the case Friday) and we looked pleasing on the eye. Potts and Ledson did ok but not passing back every minute was a bonus(now every five) I could be more scathing but when one of their subs cost 25 million I don’t see the point.

Picked up the vibes that Mads (again) was disappointedly sloppy. Would not wish to single him out except for the fact that too many, I feel, overestimate his value to the team, when his performances are viewed over 90 minutes, week in week out. Silky at times, yes, but not one who "runs" the game

Firstly, I want to say that you all need to respect Professional Footballers for doing their job. Sometimes they bend the rules - it was ever thus. Let me congratulate Evertons Tarkowski. He was obviously told that he would not be playing in the 2nd half. He stayed with the kids, under 8, taking Penalties in front of the Sir Tom Stand, shook hands with them, spoke with them & then ran back to the Kop to acknowledge tge Everton support - which was great & possibly outnumbered us. Back to the game. We gave a good account of ourselves & Keane, in particular, was brilliant @ holding up the ball laying it off. Everton did not dominate play & seldom looked like scoring. Weak Penalty to my mind. Linesman on the Sir Tom Stand was akwsys 20yds behind the ball & made numerous errors. On balance, when Everton, rarely, looked like scoring did - we didn't. Lots of huff & puff but no end product. Having read preseason reports about Brady, I was looking forward to seeing him Attack. He never looked forward. Like last Season, every pass is backwards. We cannot accept this. There was an occasion in the first half when we got Everton on tge Counter to Brady. We had more men forward, he turned round, slowly, & passed back to the FB. Summed him up - a luability. Now Potts, tries hard & I will not denigrate his ability - he is a Box to Box MF. As fir a RWB, He cannot turn, he cannot dribble he cannot cross. It is not rocket science. Get us 2 Wbs Ridsdale, you're name is already mud & you've nothing to give to this club. 3 years without a RB, & no real LWB when you consider what Brady cannot do. I don't have any Coaching Licences but I know crap when I see it. Finally, what is RL doing? Against Southport he made 11 changes in one swoop. Today he made so many changes that this team has no idea who they will be playing with next Friday or how to play with whatever team is picked. Absolute Genius!

There were decent moments today....but no goals, to get goals you need to make chances and too often we fail when in half decent positions. We fail to push when going forward. To many times we gave the ball away and that so desperately needs to improve. He gave the ball away a few times but Ledson did ok and it suggests he will be around as a squad player, but will start few. New lad, we have seen nothing but need to give him time. However, we have no one who grabs hold of the game, a provides a backbone, no playmaker despite Mads apparently filling that role. Brady delivered some decent balls and the others played ok....but again gave the ball away! I'm in Cornwall on Friday, but I hope the ground is pretty full, we make some noise and get 3 but 1 would be ok. As for Everton.....see you next season at your new ground
